Mid-century French Chalk Plate Chart of a Lizard. Produced in Paris for the Biology Classroom. Canvas-backed. Rolls and ties and can be easily hung from a single hook. This striking cat chart was produced in Paris by the Dr. Auzoux company, with Paul Sougy as the illustrator. The Dr. Auzoux company dates back to the second half of the 19th century. They were renowned for their incredibly detailed anatomical and botanical models. They branched out into classroom charts in the 1940s. Their shop in Paris remained open until the 1980s. As with all classroom charts, condition can be very rough from years of rolling and unrolling. Writing on the charts and wiping them off with damp cloths tends to cause crackling and wrinkles on the surface. This chart is in good vintage condition for its age, but does have some wrinkles and imperfections. Please view photos carefully. Dimensions: 40" wide x 51" long
